I chose to design my magazine cover and spread based on Knowable Magazine’s article “Searching for a Better Treatment for Eating Disorders.” This project holds personal meaning for me, as I have faced my own struggles with an eating disorder, and designing this piece allowed me to use art as both expression and advocacy. I wanted to create visuals that reflected the emotional depth of recovery while offering a sense of hope and compassion. To balance the heaviness of the subject, I incorporated lighthearted cartoon illustrations, bringing warmth and approachability to the design. These playful elements help make the topic more inviting and less clinical, opening the door for empathy and understanding.
